Students for 60,000 : ウィキペディア英語版 | Students for 60,000 Students for 60,000 (SF60K) is a Northport High School in Northport, NY club founded in 1987, that is dedicated to providing aid, care, and support for the needy locally, nationally, and internationally. It was given its name for the estimated 60,000 homeless people living in New York City at the time of the club's founding. Club members participate in a myriad of activities, including fund raisers, local community service and outreach projects, and the Nicaragua project, which involves two trips a year to Nicaragua to aide its people. ==Comedor Escolar Project== The "Comedor Escolar Project" started by the Students for 60,000 helps to provide meals to students in Nicaragua. In Chacraseca, there are 13 schools, and each one also has a "comedor," or dining room. In these dining rooms every student who goes to school receives a meal. Nicaragua is the second poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere, and having the ability to give at least one meal a day to their children is a huge incentive to send kids to school. For this reason, tens of thousands of dollars have been spent every year on this project.
